- Poster Organization (15 %):
- Posters should be neat, organized, and concise.
- Posters should be well-written and contain proper grammar.
- Judges should be immediately aware of the problem which is addressed and the proposed solution to the problem.
- Any figure should either: support the main idea of the poster, add relevant background information, or emphasize vital ideas.
- Poster Content (25 %):
- Quality/strength of data/results, including significance or novelty of results, as well as how scientifically thorough is the project, overall.
- Creativity (20 %):
- Novelty of problem which is addressed or,
- Originality of approach to solving the stated problem, if the problem is not novel or unusual.
- Communication Skills (15 %):
- Students should be able to clearly convey the main points of their work to an inter-disciplinary audience i.e. to an audience unfamiliar with their field.
- Students should be able to defend or elaborate on the main points or conclusions presented in their poster if asked.
- Students should be receptive to suggestions or criticism.
- Potential and relevance to the entrepreneurial spirit (25 %):
- Overall potential for the scientific/technical content to be translated into a viable business with proper project management.
